Hufflepuff was not the house that Isla had originally wanted. It didn’t feel like a fit – after all, she was far closer to her dad than she was her mum. When her twin brother was sorted into Gryffindor and she didn’t, Isla very nearly screamed at him from a crossed the great hall. That’s the thing about Isla, she’s loud, outgoing, and doesn’t much care what anyone thinks of her. Neville always did say she was more like his Gran than anyone else in the family. Only, with a bit more of an open mind, but when it came to speaking her mind, there was definitely a lot of Augusta. Not to mention he couldn’t seem to get her to think before she spoke, and that sometimes led to hurt feelings.

Isla was born the first out of four Longbottom children. She has a twin brother, and two younger siblings. Though she’s extremely close with both of her parents, she’s always been a daddy’s girl, right down to the fact that she likes Herbology (though, not nearly as much as she likes Defense Against the Dark Arts). She loves her family, and though it makes her sad, she enjoys visiting her grandparents at St. Mungos. They don’t know who she is, but she’s proud of them, and the rest doesn’t matter. In fact, she’s proud of her whole family, though when it comes to her siblings she won’t say it out loud. Especially not her twin, since he got the house she wanted. Not that she’s still bitter about it seven years later. Though, she is glad she at least got her mums house.

As a Child, Isla wasn’t much different. Her first bit of magic was when she was six, and her brother had a toy she wanted. It somehow magically appeared in her room, and though Neville wasn’t too thrilled with her finding a way to take the toy, he was just glad she showed magic. It was a far better way than he’s been forced to show he had magic. Even back then she was loud and said what she wanted. Hannah had hoped that it was something she’d grow out of, but she most definitely didn’t, and neither of her parents would have her any other way.
